Modern genetics is the science of how information encoded in genomes gets
transformed into biological traits.
Human genetics focuses on how this information is shaped in outbred organisms
like ourselves and how this
information is altered and compromised in human disease.
My laboratory focuses on the development of genetic, genomic, and
computational technologies and perspectives
for gene discovery in a variety of complex diseases. Our goal is to assess how
genomic information can be used
in modern clinical medicine in the era of personalized medicine.
